Will Prince says: the song is about a young woman going clubbing on a Friday night. She is super confident and at the height of her powers (‘the fire in your eyes’). She is happy pushing boundaries. Flyin’ High is a reference to Icarus from Greek mythology who flew too close to the sun. There is also a vulnerability about her in that she is afraid of slowing down. The line ‘afraid you’re burn away’ is a reference to this.

Will says: the lyrics were inspired by a girl he once knew. She had a quick fire answer to everything (‘you’ve got your lines’). The line ‘your powders dry’ is a reference to her waiting for the right moment to approach someone (her ‘hit’).
